Are your beliefs holding you back?

Beliefs are powerful things.  They can make you feel like you can conquer the world, or they can make you feel like can’t do anything at all.  It took a long time for me to really understand how my beliefs create the reality I live in! 

Our beliefs colour the way we see the world.  They are the foundation of how we perceive right and wrong, good and bad and what makes us happy or sad.  There was a time when my beliefs allowed me to think that I was not capable of doing anything exceptionally well.  They also led me to believe that I wasn’t worthy of living anything more than a mediocre life! 

Once I did the work to develop my self-esteem and self-confidence, I was able to shift my beliefs about my worth and the kind of life I was deserving of.  I no longer believe that I don’t have anything special to share with the world.  I will no longer settle for less than, instead of striving for the amazing life I know I was meant to live!

I think that we should review our beliefs on a regular basis.  Often, there are beliefs that we’ve held for so long that we can’t even remember why we believe it anymore, we just know that we do.  We all have beliefs that don’t serve us.  Do your beliefs empower you or leave you feeling like a victim?  It’s time we take stock of our beliefs, releasing the ones that no longer serve us or hold us back and keeping the ones that encourage our growth in all areas of our lives.  It’s amazing what we can accomplish when we shift the way we view life and how we’re meant to live it! ♥
