I started Life Leadership’s 90 Day Mental Fitness Challenge last Monday. I made the decision to do it for two reasons: 1) I knew I could do with a little personal spring cleaning of the mind and 2) to get a full understanding of what the challenge is all about so I can use it as a possible tool to help clients. One of the first benefits I have already experienced is the re-introduction of a daily habit of reading a personal growth book.
In the first week of doing the challenge I have been reminded of things that I have let slide in my daily routine. I’ll be the first to admit that my first 365 days as a full time entrepreneur didn’t always have a lot of structure to them. It was easy to fall into the trap of believing that there was no time to do the very things that helped me to find the courage to take the plunge in the first place!
Thanks to my daily reading routine and listening to motivational CDs, I’ve been reminded that in all things we need to start the way we want to finish. We’re not going to have a great day when we wake up dreading the start of the day. We’re not going to have meaningful relationships if we start off by being who you think others want you to be instead of your authentic self. We’re never going to achieve our goals if we start off doubting that they’re even possible.
Start the way you want to finish. It seems so simple, but most of the answers we’re looking for are much easier than we imagined. The truth is that we have more control over our lives than most of us give ourselves credit for. While it may be scary to think that we actually are the creators of our reality, or frustrating when we reflect on the things we’ve done in the past, this knowledge is truly empowering.
Every day is a new beginning. What are you going to do differently tomorrow to change your life for the better? If you want tomorrow to be an amazing day, start it off that way! No moaning, groaning or hitting the snooze button. Start the day with inspired enthusiasm for what’s possible and watch the magic unfold! ♥
